Things to make your therapy sessions a whole lot better.
I’ve tried out loads of products for my offices (both at-home and in an office building) so you don’t have to. Here are my favorite things that helped improve my quality of life in sessions.

Concurrent Note Taking - Movable Laptop Cart
Concurrent notetaking has saved me as an ADHD brained therapist. Now, once my session is done, my note is done too. Plus, because I’m taking notes as session is happening, I’m able to recall more info in future sessions with my clients which makes them happier too. If you want to take concurrent notes in session THIS is the laptop cart to get. It can be switched for right or left hand use, it rolls right out of the way, and you adjust it down so that it doesn’t impede the view of your client. These carts are unbelievably convenient. They also save your neck and back from horrible posture.

Virtual Sessions - Electric Standing Desk
I will never regret buying my electric standing desk 2 years ago. Not only does it let me take concurrent notes while in virtual sessions without my clients even noticing due to the built in monitor stand, but I can also get up and stand during sessions or use an under-the-desk treadmill while sending emails and admin work. As therapists, our bodies can get pretty messed up from sitting all the time. This desk helps give me the flexibility to attune to my body’s needs for position changes and movement.

Brightening Up a Windowless Dungeon of an Office
Once upon a time, not long ago, I had a windowless office and it was terrible. The one bright light, literally and figuratively, was this lamp. Now that I have an office with a window, I still use it because it’s that awesome. What I love about these lamps are that they are remote controlled, super tall, thin so you can stick them anywhere, you can adjust the temperature of the light color, and it doesn’t cast down light on your clients or hurt your eyes. I now own 3 of these as I have them in my house as well. If you hate overhead fluorescent lights and/or have a windowless office, I cannot suggest these lamps enough.
